12.3 Rate Menu You may run your calculations using this menu or the Run Simulation button at the bottom of the screen. You can also generate a Hanzlik calculation to compare against. The Hanzlik method was used in the early days of yield regulation. Calculations are very simplistic, only suited to areas with a preponderance of mature timber, with no allowances for spatial or temporal constraints, or changes in yields over time due to management. Generally, these calculations are not used for timber supply analysis on large management units. They may serve as a comparison on smaller units in some cases. 12.3.1 Calculate Harvest Rate You may run the harvest calculation using this menu selection, which is the same a clicking the Run Simulation button on the lower portion of the Calculation screen. 12.3.2 Show Hanzlik To determine a quick Hanzlik calculated harvest rate on the first rotation, use this feature. 12.3.3 Current/Future Hanzlik at Harvest To determine a quick Hanzlik calculated harvest rate on subsequent rotations, use this feature.
