Appendix 14 - 6 Program Requirements 6.1 What does it mean when I get a message stating "Run Time Error ........" Please call Enfor to enquire. Somehow the data you entered or adjusted has crashed the program. If you email your .lot file, Enfor can decipher the specific problem. A list of typical run time errors is provided in the appendices. 6.2 Is WOODLOT Y2K compliant? Yes, WOODLOT is, some aspects of VDYP and TIPSY require updating. Since Windows 95/98/NT are compliant, WOODLOT will run if VDYP and TIPSY are compliant. Enfor believes that Windows 3.1 may not be Y2K compliant and so 16bit versions of WOODLOT will not likely run in year 2000. 6.3 How can I overcome the need to make my computer Y2K compliant to run WOODLOT? If your computer and/or operating system are not Y2K compatible, WOODLOT can still be used. Simply set the date back on your computer by 10 years. WOODLOT's calculations are not dependent on the year, however the reporting function bases all years from the current one in your computer. 6.4 How do I view error messages generated during yield calculations? If an error message is generated during the external yield calculation process, WOODLOT will automatically show the error message using the browser specified in the setting screen. Some users have reported that they could not see the error message that WOODLOT reported. This is due to WOODLOT being on top of the message. To show the error message, holding down the Alt key and the Tab key, this will cycle through all the applications you are currently running. The application title will likely be "ERROR.TXT - Notepad". 6.5 How do I copy WOODLOT so I can give a copy to another user? A copy cannot be made from an installed version of WOODLOT. A copy can be made from either the diskettes or the files download from the internet. Please see the WOODLOT REFERENCE MANUAL for a complete description of how to copy WOODLOT for Windows. 6.6 How many polygons is WOODLOT limited to calculating? 400 polygons and 1000 hectares are current program limits | ||
