Appendix 13 - Default Values and Harvest Parameters Defaults Default values are used for some variables in WOODLOT if the user has not specified a value. There are several types of default values, and all may be manually overridden by simply typing over them. Defaults include:
The following diagrams show the defaults that link between screens and that are calculated, and which may be shown in [ ]. The circled data boxes in the Polygon Data screens have their values assigned from another screen in WOODLOT. The data boxes (1,2,3) with rectangular boxes around them have their values calculated in WOODLOT, and do not originate from another screen.
When a value is set to use a default number (e.g. if the PC% shows [20]% in the Polygon Data screen), it will be automatically updated if the default number is changed in the parent screen. For example, If you change the PC% to 40% in the Harvest Parameters, the PC% will be updated to [40]% in the Polygon Data screen for all polygons with [ ]. You can reset a data box to use the default value by entering a non-numeric value in the box that you wish to use with defaults. A non-numeric value could be any text or symbol such as a [square bracket]. Once reset to use a default value, the data box will appear with [ ]. Defaults that are calculated in WOODLOT include:
Harvest Parameters are set for the whole woodlot in the Harvest Parameters screen. These are then carried forward to each polygon in the Polygon Data Screen, under the "Yield Table and Harvest Parameters" screen for the individual polygon. They may be modified manually for each polygon in the "Yield Table and Harvest Parameters" screen. | ||
